This new dance is wild and weird—full of imagination and beauty and wit. There are folks who you know from my work, like Anna Adams Stark, Saúl Ulerio and the “composer of the soundtrack of my life”, Justin Jones. Ryan Tracy is back and I’m continuing to build visual worlds with artists Inna Babaeva and Amanda Ringger. And where would anyone be without stage manager Randi Rivera?! Finally, the sparkling Darrin Wright has joined us for his first IBD rodeo and already has a Rumen persona we call “Dandy Man”.

Rumen is commissioned by NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Rumen is made possible, in part, through funding from the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation, O’Donnell-Green Foundation, Dugas Family Foundation and Ivy Baldwin Dance Commissioning Circle Members. Rumen is being developed through creative residencies from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Governors Island Art Center, Mercury Store, BAM, Marble House Project, and Groundworks. Rumen is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Premiere:

April 3+4, 2026 at NYU Skirball Center

The evening is a shared bill with the award-winning choreographer Jeanine Durning.
